News- Walking for DFC Funds

April 22, 2013 "Journey of New Beginnings Completes 1200 kms. Walk": The Sachigo Walkers with their "Journey of New Beginnings" (former DFC students & friends) completed their fundraising and awareness walk to Thunder Bay. A cheering crowd greeted the group at Dennis Franklin Cromarty High School Monday afternoon where a celebration and media event was waiting for them. The group raised over $50,000 for the New DFC Student Living Centre. The over 1200 km. walk began April 5. The group was driven into the city Sunday for dinner with Thunder Bay Mayor Keith Hobbs where they were treated at Montana's Cookhouse. Later they returned to their last position to complete their trek on Monday.
