Wasaya Group followed up on last month's Youth Centres Thunder Bay launch by holding a fundraising Benefit that was video-streamed live from the Valhalla Inn Thunder Bay. The benefit concert featured Shy-Anne Hovorka, Robin Ranger band, and comedian Moccasin Joe. Proceeds from the concert will go towards Youth Centres Thunder Bay & DFC Living Centre. The event signaled the launch of a fundraising campaign that is expected to continue until all goals are met.
Wasaya Dowland also unveiled their design artists concepts for the new DFC Living Centre that is expected to go ahead as planned with some major partner announcements to be made in the new year.
During the evening event, a special presentation was made to Elder Peter Barkman's family to recognize Peter's contributions to Youth Advocacy and to First Nation Communities in the NAN territory.
