Future:

Wasaya Group is constantly developing new strategies to further diversify the company through partnership building, exploring future ventures and opportunities, and fine tuning our current enterprises and resources. Currently, under our Investment Management Group, new projects are ready for start-up and several endeavours are under consideration.

Wasaya Group is actively working with our individual First Nation communities and our industry partners to generate more economic development opportunities and both on and off reserve.  We envision this will lead to job creation providing meaningful careers for our people.

             Our Logo:

Wasaya describes the  light and energy of the rising sun in the Oji-Cree dialect and the logo of Wasaya, which depicts a sunburst with eight sunrays, represents each original owner community.

Other areas of growth are being realized through the continuing work of our not-for-profit branch Wasaya WeeCheeWayWin Inc. which is actively partnering with First Nations and other stake-holders to enhance community life skills, particularly through cultural teachings and youth based initiatives.

Among Wasaya's newer initiatives are our Tourism  Development initiative "Wasaya Wilderness Adventures" which provides much needed support to remote Tourism operators; Our involvement and support for a new First Nations High School and Residence in Thunder Bay in partnership with a large number of stakeholders; and the new Youth Center  Pilot Project - a Partnership with Youth Centres Thunder Bay and the City of Thunder Bay.
